It’s fall, which means it’s APPLE TIME here in Michigan! To celebrate the season, plans are underway for the 2011 Apple Festival at the historic Miller Farm at 635 State Street, Eaton Rapids.

Chairperson Mary Ann Wesley promises fun for the entire family at this event which runs from 10 till 4.

Apples will be available for sale, along with apple pies, our famous molasses cookies, and other baked goods.  The 1940’s ice cream parlor will be open all weekend for those who want a cone, sundae, malt, or shake!

Historical re-enactors will show visitors what life might have been like in the early years of our country.    Visitors are welcome to visit our other historic buildings, including our 1870 Wright One Room Schoolhouse, the Plains Road Bible Church, the Miller house and museum, and the new Jean Kline Block.

Can you bake an apple pie?  There will be the third annual Apple pie baking contest—bake up your favorite apple pie and enter it at 10:30 for judging at noon at the Miller House. You can find the entry form and more info at EatonRapidsHistory.com.  Last year's winner was Leland Scott.

Wagon rides will take you around the “prairie”, and goat rides will be available behind the barn.  Kid’s games and activities will be available.

We hope you will join us to celebrate fall and Eaton Rapids history.  If you would like more information email us at info@EatonRapidsHistory.com, or visit our website at EatonRapidsHistory.com, or call (517)285-0010. Volunteers are still needed to help!
